argh. what kind of end to the week was this? not that this week was particularly spectacular up to the point that an amazing Sunday was required to wrap it up or anything, but i have been spending a big portion of that week looking forward to the Shahbandar excursion we were supposed to have this morning!!
for the past two hikes, the weather throughout the journeys were both nice, sunny and, well, not anything like it was today. when i wake up, i usually anticipate just my mother's voice telling me to get the hell up, but she was accompanied by that annoying pitter-patter of raindrops against the rooftops, canvases, windows and any other sonorous objects. apologies for the pun, but it did quite dampen my spirits a bit. nonetheless, i got ready, packed my things, in the hopes that the rain might, just might subside or even stop. but nah, it was as if the rain delighted in my misery and the pitter patter amplified. my ma then urged me to contact my fellow hikers, as the situation got iffy. after much texting and repeated phone calls (my mobly's crap), i travelled to Shahbandar, only anticipating Mags, Zan, and perhaps Alvin. but by the time i got there, it was damp, grey and reminiscent of a teen horror survival-in-the-jungle movie, so i decided to wait for a bit in my car.
i mean, people were there, there was some school parents-teachers function thing going on in that square near the playground, and there were loons coming out of the hike, and loons going in. changing my mind, i decided to turn around and head home, when i happened upon Zan. we decided that it's too much of a risk to go gallavanting in the jungle in its current state, so we continued towards the exit to bump into Mags and Jacob (not literally, of course). hence, as a group, we all decided it was too much of a risk to go gallavanting in the jungle in its current state, and all headed (to our own) home.
and to make it even more sillier, later in the afternoon the sun was blaring like there was no tomorrow. sheesh.
i blame the Philippines. them and their silly typhoons.
